All colors influence the mood and feelings evoked in an interior space, none more so than the color blue. Using blue in your interior space can produce a calming serene feeling in your space and at the same time it can evoke a more energizing feeling if you choose a darker and brighter hue. Blue is the coolest color – the color of the sky, ocean and twilight. It invokes rest and can cause the body to produce chemicals that are calming. Electric or brilliant blues become dynamic and dramatic, an engaging color that expresses exhilaration. It is for this very reason that the color blue is so popular in interior design.
This blue accent wall looks great at the backdrop for the complimentary colored sofa. I like the addition of the yellowish/gold pillows and shade.

I love the color of this accent chair! Blue is an easy color to layer in different hues. This bedroom is a great example.

Something about this room really gets my attention. Most likely all the layers of color and texture, in addition to all modern furniture. What a cool wallpaper! So retro!

I’m really into these dark shades of blue. They really add a rich depth to this space. Again, the layers of colors and textures are beautifully done in the room.

Forget blue on the walls, lets paint the floor! So cool! It’s like having the ocean in your home!

I love the contrast between the blue wall and the green headboard. It draws your eye right to it. Where can I get this nightstand-its so cute!?

This all blue and white design is a classic. I like the curtains and the print on the stool. I wouldn’t mind putting on my make-up here.

This bedroom is the definition of serene for me. It evokes such a soothing and calming feeling. Looks a little like a room that could be in a boutique hotel.

This area rug is such a cool pattern. The layers of blue in this room really balance well together.

It’s no secret that I love modern furniture. Especially if it’s covered in this super cool blue fabric. I just love this little nook!

What’s your favorite shade of blue? Do you like the shades showcased here or do you prefer this shade?
