New Graphic Art!

Over the holidays, boyfriend and I went on vacay over to the left coast. We flew into San Francisco for a few days then drove down to LA for a few more days. We had a great time! Of course I hit up the Fairfax Flea Market while I was in LA (myfav!). I scored some new much needed art for our living room. The pic below is me at their booth making my purchase. They had some really great graphic art. Young, modern, and fun. Boyfriend and I chose 3 as a keepsake for our vacation in Cali. One is of the Bay Bridge in San Fran. The second is for LA. The 3rd is a fun one that reads” Together We So Rock”. Check them out below!

Cool Wall Murals

Remember this post with amazing painted floors? Well, I came across a great artist who paints these really cool wall murals. Although his background is in architecture,  he painted one in his own home and before he knew it friends were asking him to do one in their homes too. You can read more about Tim Balon here. Below is a showcase of some of his amazing wall murals.

Graphic Art Inspiration *(plus a freebie)

I’ve been really inspired by all this amazing graphic art I have been admiring lately (partly in due to my Pinterest obsession I must admit).  Anyway, it inspired a DIY project.  I made a graphic art piece for my boyfriend that we can hang on one of our completely bare bedroom walls.

We have one of those “inside couple” sayings that I decided would be perfect for this art piece.  When we’re feeling especially fond of one another, we say (get your gag reflex in check for this one), “have I told you today how much I love you”.  It’s then followed by the oh so usual…”I love you”.  I know, gag.  But you had to know the inspiration behind the art right?

I played around with the words a bit in Photoshop until I got it just right.  I went with a black background and white font.  I chose an aqua color for the letters/shape I wanted to highlight.   I got a frame at Micheal’s on sale for $25 and had it printed for $20 dollars at Kinko’s/Fed Ex Office.  So for under $50 bucks, I got custom made art that has sentimental value for us.

Before I show you what I made, here are some other graphic art pieces that are really fun.  Oh! I’m also attaching a jpg of what I made in case you want it for yourself.
